Rowtown Records proudly presents an album whose genre can confidently be called one of the most formative for many electronic music styles - Jazz-Funk! When we heard the new material from our long-time companion Funkzelle aka Deep Lab 9, we didn't hesitate for a second to sign it for our otherwise Drum & Bass oriented imprint, because we love the whole range of magnificent music. And if there's one thing label boss Rowpieces loves, it's the Funk, Soul and Jazz sound of the 70s, and that's exactly where Funkzelle is hitting the mark. "Dirty Business" is a sophisticated homage to that era and amazingly authentic. Complicated brass arrangements in Big Band style meet relaxed rhodes, pianos and strings, lively drums and percussions, sparsely but purposefully used synth sounds, as well as funky guitar licks and groovy bass runs played by the master himself, which could not be more precise and sophisticated. From quiet Easy Listening to crime movie score like soundscapes to exciting Brass Funk, you'll find everything that friends of good old handmade music desire!
