When Funkzelle knocked on Rowtown Records with the demos, label owner Rowpieces knew right away that sometime after the album's release a small remix project would have to follow, and he asked two of his absolute favourite Drum & Bass producers.
The first remix was done by Maverick Soul from the USA, who is no longer an unknown quantity in the scene of demanding music connoisseurs. He is known for his Neo Soul and soulful Hip Hop influences. Refined jazzy harmonies meet deep sound collages, Jungle-like beats and rumbling basses. The rather calm atmosphere of the tune is deceptive, because after a short time you see yourself nodding your head, fidgeting and immediately pressing repeat.
The second remix is by Simple Souls from the UK, who have worked with Row on several occasions in recent years. This remix is extremely club-suited and nobody will be able to sit still. Pushing beats and catchy bass lines support the original Funkzelle sounds. The brilliant arrangement provides for variety and an interplay of dance phases and breaks. Another example of a perfect fusion of Jazz-Funk and Drum & Bass.
